cadence mis-guess

We are daily users of JES Deinterlacer and we love it (most of the time). The function we use it for most is Inverse Telecine. To my knowledge JES is the only Mac software that can inverse telecine footage that has mixed cadences (except the old Media Cleaner). This is a feature we find critical for a lot of the work we do. Unfortunately, it's far from perfect. The main problem we have is most of the footage we get that needs IVT is footage that was shot 24 but edited on a 30 (29.97) timeline. So JES fails to give us usable results on any crossfades, or overlayed graphics, etc, that were done at 30fps. Also JES often mis-guesses the cadence right after scene changes, at which point we get a frame or two of interlaced footage, before it snaps back to a proper IVT.

I don't think proper reconstruction is possible if the overlay or cross fade is 30fps and you want 24fps out.

There is a settings for detecting interlaced scene changes. Doesn't this help?

I'll try to improve the accuracy of the cadence breaks and the scene change handling.
