Cadence phase not found err - Error #5017

Postby hybriddesign » 29 Mar 2008, 17:17

I'm trying out JES Deinterlacer for my .mpg captured files (HV20 captured via Premiere Pro) on my MacPro. I'm using the reverse telecine process for 60i to 24p conversion, but every clip I've tried gives me the "Cadence phase not found err - Error #5017" half way through encoding. I've tried 4-5 clips, some that are continues takes. I've used AE to find the cadence and it worked great, so I don't think it's an issue of dropped frames. Any other ideas? I'm using the latest alpha build 3.3a2.

THanks!

Have you tried both settings for "top field first" in combination with "find cadence breaks"?

Ok, this has been unanswered for so long.

Does your file start with a colorbar?

If so, remove it. What I did is export a Non-self contained QT from FCP7, starting at the first feature frame.

This happens because JES tried to find the cadence but can't find any on a colorbar, I assume that it tried to search the cadence only on the first few seconds of a movie (since candence, once found doesn't change, there's no need to scan the FULL quicktime, however long it is).

Try that!

I hope this helps anyone else trying to figure this out!
