Deinterlacing DV ntsc footage

Postby esr2 » 17 Jun 2016, 12:26

Dear Jan, my name in ..., I am an American indie filmmaker living in Los Angeles. I have some Analog NTSC DV tapes that I would like to convert to HD NTSC. Can you tell where I can get the best motion detection deinterlacing software for the task? Would your deinterlacer work for this? Thanks so much. ...

I don't think there is such a thing as analog DV tapes. You probably mean you want to digitize some analog tapes to DV and convert them to HD.

HD can be interlaced too (1o80i). In this case the quality is determined by the upscaling. I use standard QuickTime scaling which is of reasonable quality.

My motion detection is reasonable, but not really the best.

My app can certainly do what you want, but quality is not "professional" even though I often get high praise from users.

I can't advise on other deinterlacers because I never use them.
