Avoiding exporting twice

Avoiding exporting twice

Postby esr1 » 17 Aug 2010, 09:42

I have a question on JES Video Cleaner usage, and would be grateful if
you could take some time to help me.

I need to de-noise a movie created with iMovie 2009.
If I understand correctly I must export from iMovie to quicktime, and
then use JES Video Clean and export again in order to achieve this.

I would like to avoiding exporting twice in order to preserve quality.
Is this possible?

First of all, I would reduce noise before using a clip in iMovie (if possible). Keep everything in the format used by iMovie (DV for standard definition, AIC for HD movies).

If you want to denoise the iMovie project movie, then you need to select the movie inside the project file. If you want to drag you need to control click in the Finder in order to access the package content.
I am not sure if the Open File dialog peeks inside packages.

It may save time if you can save to the right folder (project media folder?). At any rate you don't lose quality if you use iMovie's native format. The movie should be copied if necessary, not recompressed.
I believe you can drag a folder to the output pane.
